Ten years ago they had smoldering chemistry, but the spark between them now might light a fuse that leads to an explosion even Jace can't stop. Not that he wants to. If only Alexa can get past her guilt and trust her heart again. But how do you put it all on the line when you've already lost everything once before? *Mature Audiences only, 18+. My Review: As much as the death encompassed her past, there seems to be missing more of a background. I would have liked a little more time or reflections on her first marriage and his death before moving on so quick to the real love story. The rekindling was true to the title. The love story reignited and set ablaze past feelings that were in limbo with a decade past by. They left each other under different circumstances with the military and her family's job separating them, just to come together again like no time had past. I enjoyed that there was little flashbacks on their friendship and the alternating POV through them to hear about the secret feelings they were developing towards each other then, but were too afraid to voice their feelings. The character develop of Alexa and Jace were good, but might have been able to stretch a little deeper into them other than the obvious wounds a widower and a war vet might have. I enjoyed the relationship Alexa had with her sister and his man and I loved the spunk and humor their little girl added to the story. Just when you start thinking the happy ending was about to start its course I enjoyed the twist. I gave this four stars. As boyfriend material. I would be pissed if I had a best guy friend I was infatuated with secretively starts leading me on and confesses his feelings for me the day before he leaves...then doesn't call, write, search for me if I was supposed to mean that much to them. He could have tried harder, I would have if she had my heart. Other than that he seemed to be a dream friend growing up defending her and being so interested in her and her hobbies. |
