Short, sweet read. It was relatable how after years of seeing someone it can feel like no time has passed and you fall back into comfort with them. Good story. I gave this four stars. I read this one over a two day time period maybe about 5 hours of time and it was such a quick book I had forgot to post the review so this is a week late. It seemed this book was cut short with so many characters and backstory the author could have developed a lot more. It's my first fantasy book to read so I don't have much to compare it to. I enjoyed the story just didn't have a long introduction to the dozens of fantasy characters as their names were thrown about. I gave it two stars. I rated this a four star. It was an easy read though it was by a foreign author so the dialect wasn't as flowing to me and I had to read through a few things twice to know it was written in another lingo. This had to do with a vacation romance and the characters were relatable which made you care for the characters. I liked at the beginning I just about rolled my eyes assuming I could already tell you exactly how it ended with which guy so it was a nice change that they threw me off and it took a different turn. I might not have personally enjoyed what happened with the explicit scene at the end with the three characters on the couch or what happened to Carrington but I will say I really wanted to yell and talk to someone about this book after I finished it. I needed to vent about how involved she got me to her characters and how pissed I was. This was definitely a change from my usual normal love story plot and held my attention. Creative. She made us think there was going to be a real struggle between chooses which guy and how it was so easy and her settling was disappointing. I wanted more backstory on the second main male character. I rated this three stars but it took a lot of debating the story line pissed me off and got a two but I'm hoping this is a good build for the second book so maybe a three. Adult content, explicit. When everything falls apart, he's the one thing that holds me together.
Ginger Teague isn't your typical Hollywood actress. Sure, she has a famous boyfriend, designer clothes, and money. This is the life she always dreamed of, but constantly being in the public eye has its downside. Behind the facade, she hides secrets. Secrets that help her deal with all the stress. Caspian is a struggling musician, but he isn't in it for the fame or the money. He's happy making music for whoever will listen. He sees something in Ginger that he can relate to. A girl just as lost and unhappy as he once was. There's only one problem. They can't fall in love. Friendship is all they can allow themselves to risk. She is a blogger, author, and fangirl who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, and Jewelry (bet you never thought you'd hear those three things in a sentence together) For fun, she loves watching any show on the SyFy channel, relaxing with her family, reading, and listening to indie music (sometimes all at the same time). Briana loves to write stories where there are no limits to the imagination. She is the co-author of the fantasy Ethereal Underground series and author of The Last Thing (the first in the Hollywood Timelines Series). Author Websites: www.bookswithbree.com www.etherealunderground.com Here is a Surprise! I had just finished reading The Last Thing by Briana Gaitan and sent back to the publisist my reviews I wrote and that I'd be interested if she ever came out with a book that followed in the Hollywood Series. I was surprised myself brainstorming questions I might ask and Briana emailed me and answered them! I feel so special and she definitely earned a spot on my favorite author list for being so sweet to take the time to reply; I should have definitely thought more about my questions now knowing they had a chance of being answered. I wanted to share her response and a document she sent with a little more about her and her book. Q: What did the title really mean? A: The original title of the book was called Home. About half way through the book this phrase kept popping up "...the last thing i want" "...that was the last thing that i thought about before bed." stuff like that. In all, the title is about The Last Thing you want being the thing you really need. Q: Will you have a continuation of the birth or their relationship? Will you go off and have a book about Ginger? A: Ginger's book comes out in January, and you will see a lot of Quinn and Chase in it! They aren't the focus of the story, but there are many scenes exploring Ginger and Quinn's relationship as well. Q: How about Chloe with the muscled man at the premiere? A; At this time, I don't have any plans to explore Chloe's story or new relationship. I had a bunch of requests for Bash (he got his own story) and then Maria releases tomorrow. Who knows, maybe if enough people ask I may explore her more. After Ginger, there will be more stories of Barrett, Tucker, and Lena. Thank you for taking the time to answer my crazy questions! A well written book. I read this in the matter of a few hours, it was quick and different which kept it intriguing. I was wondering the whole time how they were really going to pull off the son but they lasted the whole book with it healthy and the drama and relationship rolled on. I don't read very many romance books focused around that so it kept me interested to see how it would it. I wish the ending wouldn't have been so quick the Mom and the kid having more than just a paragraph or two and her parents never coming to see her. I don't think they actually ever moved in together so it could have gone on longer but the book was about the romance and ended on the romance so point accomplished. I would recommend. I gave this book five stars on goodreads, it was an easy book to read and different. I'd look forward to reading the other characters love developments with updates of Quinn in the background.
