Sierra Sellers has never had a problem finding a date, but when her mother's meddling ways result in her being set up with the intensely sexy Luke McCoy, owner of Club Destiny, Sierra learns she can't fight temptation. When he unleashes her deepest, darkest fantasies, she finds herself in a position she doesn't want to get out of. Luke McCoy has run fast and hard from the demons that chase him. The hot, fierce need that pushed him beyond the boundaries he hadn't realized he'd erected resulted in a two month hiatus from the world he'd built for himself. A world concreted in lust and forbidden fantasies. So when his twin brother Logan introduces him to Sierra, Luke finds himself up against a temptation that he can't resist. Cole Ackerley never backed down from a challenge, but that was before he'd been intimately introduced to Luke McCoy. Throw in the black haired vixen with the glowing blue eyes, and Cole finds himself engulfed in a menage hot enough to rival the sun. When his feelings for both of them ignite, Cole learns the true meaning of self-restraint. The deep, soul scorching hunger that ignites between the three of them turns into a firestorm of sensuality and lust that only burns brighter and hotter with every encounter. But when Luke continues to push them away, can Cole and Sierra find a way to show him there are no boundaries when it comes to love?
312 pages Published November 13th 2012 Current GoodReads Rating: 4.31 Stars My Review: The second book in the Club Destiny series improved tremendously to me compared to Logan and Sam's journey in the first book. It has similarities with one of the two main partners unsure of the sexual arrangements and running away months and weeks at a time. This book made me feel more comfortable by how the characters held themselves that they were all having fun and consensual unlike that first that kept me feeling uncomfortable with all the doubt Sam held that Logan just plowed through. The doubt that filled this story wasn't because of the participation in such extravagant acts, but a doubt in if the people engaging in the acts were right for each other. This book also contained a more plausible story line and sexual encounters so it served its purpose as an erotic novel instead of the entertainment value from the far-fetched ideas the last book contained. Anyways, focusing on this book, I enjoyed the characters and the depth that they contained and it seemed to have a good balance of a story with the regular sexual encounters. The story seemed to force the reader into the same awkward place that they must have been in deciding who likes who better. Which guy would Sierra choose? Then both of the guys…would they choose the other guy, the girl, or leave because they were too overwhelmed with their lack of control and intensity of the relationship developing. Fun rendezvous. I enjoyed the erotic author being introduced aka Ashley into the story, which reminded me of how the author might be. Sierra and Sam asked the author how she came up with all the erotic material and it added a humorous edge. Billionaire oilman Blair Coleman has always taken care of his business. After having been used and cast aside by a woman he thought he loved, his personal life is far from his first priority. He knows only one has ever truly cared for him—but the irresistible blonde beauty is the daughter of his best friend.
Niki Ashton has seen her father's friend wounded and she's seen him fight. Blair is the strongest—and most stubborn—man she's ever known. That very heart and passion makes him the man of her dreams, but whenever they've been in danger of getting close, Blair has always pushed her away. It takes a possible tragedy to strip away all of Blair's misgivings. Now it's all or nothing: marriage, baby, family, forever. But will the choice be too much for Niki…or too late? 320 pages Expected publication: November 24th 2015 Current Goodreads Rating: 3.61 Stars My Review: The sexy Blair Coleman who repeatedly get manipulated by girls who only see him for his money. He's constantly looking for something that has been right in front of him for years. I enjoyed the tug-a-war this book offers as you get a tease of what could blossom between Niki and Blair at the beginning and then get it pulled away for you as you become the worried Niki as a reader hoping things will change and come together as you get pissed at Blair for some of his decisions. I love that the father had a type of parallel love story to what is happening between Niki and Blair and encourages them both to be happy no matter what anyone else thinks. It seemed to be set as an old-fashioned, sheltered back drop. The love story was very detailed and intriguing but there seemed to be no connection with the present, outside world. I guess the author was blinded by the love these characters share and that nothing else mattered. I enjoyed this book and rate it four out of five stars. I've never seen a dad so eagerly encouraging love which was refreshing.

Freed to Forgive
by
Julie B. Cosgrove
Genre: Inspirational/Suspense
Abused in her Mexican village, Marisol’s anger is her ticket to freedom in America or so she thinks. But her temper lands her in worse and worse situations. Trafficked and pregnant, she gives up the baby so it can have a better life.
Now, ten years later, her past returns to haunt her, just when she has caught the eye of Jesse, the one man who wants to know her…and not just her body. Marisol has struggled hard to disguise her past, but will the unforgiving spirit she harbors prevent her from embracing her future?
Though delicately worded with veiled descriptions, this faith-based novel does depict some disturbing, yet unfortunately all too common, sex trafficking scenes necessary for the plot.
Praise for Julie Cosgrove
I've bought Julie B Cosgrove's new book and will read it when released. After reading others from Julie, I know this one will be a dynamite read too.
Gay N Lewis, author of the Sara books
Ms Cosgrove writing style weaves into a descriptive story demanding not to be put down. The story arc and the character development are well-toned. Julie B. Cosgrove holds the reader in the palm of her hand. Just when you think all might go well for the main character, another event far worse than the one before befalls her all delivered by the expertly crafted and well-accomplished Ms. Cosgrove.
Victoria Caine Pitts.
The author takes a very real, very dire situation and educates you about it through this book, intertwining edge-of-your-seat twists and turns along the way. She stabs your heart with a strong awareness of the horrific human trafficking problem our country faces by putting it right in front of you.If this story doesn't tug at your heartstrings and inspire you to get involved, nothing will.
And in the midst of all that, Julie manages to subtly teach a lesson in faith - faith to give God control and wait for his timing,
no matter how powerful your storm.
Believable characters, a plot that never ceases to shock and intrigue, and descriptive visuals are just a few elements that make this book worthy of your time. I highly recommend it to anyone who...well, to anyone, really.
Emily Skeen, romance author
I really enjoyed the way the issues was woven into the story without feeling it was thrown in my face. Cosgrove spent the time to develop the characters enough to make me have that deep connection with them but not get bored, a fine line that a lot of authors cross.

Shoes shuffled towards her. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten you. You speak English?” She bobbed her head. He bent down to meet her face. A black shirt came into view as a whiff of woodsy men’s cologne filled her nose. A small, wooden cross dangled from beneath his open collar. Marisol dared to raise her eyes, just a touch. They were met by a warm smile. Two strong hands gently clutched her arms. “Come into the church. We can talk. Perhaps I can help you.” Alarms went off. No. Never go anywhere with a strange man—ever again. Marisol twisted from his grip, gaze returning downward. The man released his hands and held them out, palms up. “My name is Pastor Jake. You can trust me.” One eye cocked enough to peer into his. Honesty oozed from them, as did reverence, etched by slight crow’s feet. He appeared to be in his late thirties now. A gold band glimmered on his left ring finger. A shudder raced under her skin. She willed her shoes to move—away from the man, the marquee, and her memories. But they locked to the sidewalk. His eyes narrowed. “Do I know you?” Marisol inhaled a shaky breath. Yes, you do. But she’d never reveal it. To do so would dredge up too much sorrow. And while he enjoys giving commentary on her blind dates, she quickly realizes with a shock that it’s Parker who gets her engines going… 304 pages Published October 6th 2015 Current Goodreads Rating: 4.28 Stars My Review: This was a refreshing, easy romance with a sprinkle of excitement. It held about 90% focus on the building romance with little hints of suspense and mystery. I wish it had held a more even balance of romance and action because it had the potential to involve a lot more detail on the action-packed backstory. I felt like the transitions between the action and romance was forced and placed strategically, being few and far between, instead of intertwining and complementing each other more. I did still enjoy this book, it just gave me a taste for action and I wanted more. I have not read a book from Jill Shalvis that I didn’t like, so I would easily recommend this book. I gave this book four out of five stars. She doesn’t go into so much detail in the sexy scenes that it will make you blush at work, but she alludes and provides glances that fuel the imagination to possibly affect you just as much without the blunt wording of other erotica’s. I would rate the main male character, definite boyfriend material, with how much he helped around the house! There is nothing sexier than a man cleaning up and fixing things behind your back without you having to ask him a dozen times. He was a charmer.

"My name is Susan Bradford. I currently live in Houston, Texas. I desperately want to live.
My fight all began thirty years ago, when at the age of 34 I had a heart attack, which resulted in my first angioplasty. Being a woman, not over weight and no high blood pressure, there was no known reason for this, but due to the fact my father had a history of heart disease and so did his father, I was dealt a bad hand of cards. Through the years and a bilateral bypass, multiple angioplasties, ablations and stents, I was eventually forced to be implanted with a pacemaker/defibrillator. Unfortunately this did not fix the problems that I was facing. Through all of this, I now have less than 20% heart function, a mitral valve that cannot be repaired or replaced due to no viable heart muscle left and congestive heart failure. Having a heart this weak does not allow the blood or the oxygen to pump efficiently enough to keep me going and has put an unbelievable damper on my daily quality of life. Due to the high cost expected for this transplant, that I am so desperately needing, I do not have the funds that are being required in addition to living costs that will be needed during the recuperation period as I will not be able to work. I have been told that in order for me to be added to the National heart transplant list, I must show that I have the funds needed that involves the care-giving, medications, cardiac rehab, and any needed extra expenses that should arise. Any donation, whether large or small would be very much appreciated. I would love very much to continue this exciting journey through life, only this time with a heart that will allow me to enjoy all life has to offer without limitations. Thank you for your help and support!!"
NORTH BEACH
by
Miles
Arceneaux
It’s 1962 on the Texas Gulf Coast, and 15-year-old Charlie Sweetwater and his brother, Johnny, are happily oblivious to the world’s problems. Charlie’s main concerns are qualifying for an upcoming Golden Gloves boxing tournament, ducking a local bully and, with any luck, stealing a kiss from Carmen Delfín, the prettiest girl he’s ever laid eyes on.
Charlie’s last innocent summer ends abruptly when his boxing coach is murdered and his friend, a black Cuban boxer named Jesse Martel, is accused of the crime.
Their problems are compounded when Jesse becomes a political pawn in a high-stakes contest between Cuba and the CIA—a contest that intensifies when the Cuban Missile Crises begins, and the world’s two superpowers come within an eye blink of mutual destruction.
Through it all, Charlie and his brother are convinced that Jesse is innocent, and they are determined to find the real murderer—a remorseless killer who is stalking more victims—and clear Jesse’s name before time runs out. Suddenly the Sweetwater boys find themselves navigating through a world that is much bigger, more complicated, and scarier than they ever imagined.
EXCERPT FROM NORTH BEACH
As we drove over the tall hump of the Harbor Bridge, I gazed down at the North Beach neighborhood below. It looked gloomy and pitiful and dark. . . . Once it had been a popular tourist destination, full of boisterous crowds of vacationers, stevedores, and sailors, along with local well-to-do families. Billboards promoted it as Texas’s own Coney Island, “the Playground of the South.” I had vivid childhood memories of the long fishing pier, the saltwater swimming pool with its high-diving board, and next to it, the Surf Bath House, where you could rinse off in a fresh-water shower after swimming, and then order an ice cream float from the soda fountain. . . . You could see clear to Mustang Island from the top of the Ferris wheel. . . .
But North Beach had changed since then. The carnival and amusement park went broke after the causeway was constructed, and a few years later, when the pivoting Bascule Bridge was replaced by the high-arch Harbor Bridge, people and cars began to hurry past the area as if it were a drunk passed out on the street. You could stare as you went by, but you sure didn’t want to stop. . . . Now only a few greasy spoons, pawn shops, dollar-a-day-flophouses, and a handful of windowless bars remained—bars off the beaten path, bars that people went to when they didn’t want to be seen, or found.
“Johnny?”
“What, brother man?”
“Do you think Rachel would’ve been crazy enough to duck into one of those North Beach joints?”
He eased his foot off the accelerator, thinking about it, and then zipped over to catch the last North Beach exit before the Nueces Bay Causeway. “It’s worth a shot,” he answered. “And, yeah, I think she’s crazy enough.”

Blurbs for Ransom Island:
“Like Carl Hiaasen and John D. MacDonald, Miles Arceneaux sets his dark doings by blue water, and has a ball doing it. He makes me want to run away to the islands—Galveston, Mustang or Padre—and sip a tall, cold glass of gin-and-something while I read his latest tale. RANSOM ISLAND may be his best one yet.”

Blurbs for La Salle’s Ghost:
“The story would make a good film . . . Seamlessly plotted and beautifully told.”
-- Lubbock Avalanche Journal
Blurbs for Thin Slice of Life:
“Miles Arceneaux has written a classic . . . steeped in salt-air atmosphere that just can’t be faked . . . It’s as if Dashiell Hammett had grown up on the Texas Gulf Coast.”
Stephen Harrigan, Best Selling Author of The Gates of the Alamo
“The best suspense novel I’ve read since Cormac What’s-His-Name.”
-- Kinky Friedman, Governor of the Heart of Texas
The author of four funny, fast-paced novels of intrigue set on the Texas Gulf Coast, Miles Arceneaux is a one-of-a-kind writer. Or, to be precise, he is three-of-a-kind. The irreverent persona of “Miles” is the product of three friends, lifelong Texans, and Gulf Coast aficionados.
Brent Douglass’ inspiration for Miles’ tales stems from his family’s deep Texas coastal roots, and the iconoclastic characters he crossed paths with growing up there. James R. Dennis’ intimate knowledge of both sides of the law (he’s one of the good guys, it should be mentioned) and his deep appreciation for Texas Rangers lore helps keep Miles’ protagonists on the side of the angels. As a longtime journalist covering Texas and Texans, John T. Davis has sometimes been accused of writing fiction, but this is the first time he has set out to do it on purpose. Together, Douglass, Dennis and Davis make “Miles Arceneaux” truly more than the sum of his parts.
